PROCESS & EQUIPMENT DETAILS
How tertiary wastewater treatment fits your process.
Operating principle
Polishing of secondary-treated wastewater for a defined reuse or discharge objective.
Tertiary treatment polishes upstream treated wastewater for a defined final use. Solids removal, membranes, adsorption or disinfection are selected from residual water quality and the reuse specification.
Engineering checks
- Service flow and selected hydraulic loading
- Bed depth, contact time and freeboard
- Backwash expansion or regeneration demand
- Design pressure, materials and corrosion compatibility
Configuration & equipment
- Upstream treated-water interface
- Selected solids-removal stage
- Adsorption / membrane stage where required
- Disinfection where required
- Reuse-water storage and transfer
- Water-quality monitoring
Configuration options are reviewed against the project duty. Supply quantities and final scope are defined in the approved proposal.
| Process / operating item | Engineering requirement |
|---|---|
| Process review 1 | Disinfection, media and conditioning are selected from the required water quality. |
| Operating and maintenance | Record inlet/outlet pressure and water quality. Inspect media loss and distribution. Carry out backwash or regeneration to approved procedures. |
| Documentation | Project-specific datasheet, PFD, P&ID, equipment GA, electrical load list and O&M documentation as agreed. |

YOUR PROJECT, YOUR DESIGN BASIS
Configure your requirement.
Enter what you know. Leave unavailable values blank for engineering review.
A solution shaped by your requirements.
Polishing of secondary-treated wastewater for a defined reuse or discharge objective. Treatment begins with understanding the effluent sources and their variability. Physical, chemical and biological stages are combined as appropriate, followed by polishing and sludge management.
What we review
- Average daily flow and hourly inflow profile
- Operating hours and peak-flow conditions
- BOD, COD, TSS, pH, nutrients and relevant contaminants
- Reuse or discharge objective
- Available area, levels and site interfaces
- Treatability, sludge handling and odour constraints
Capacity, materials, operating conditions and performance are specified after review of your project data. Product images are conceptual visualizations.
