PROCESS & EQUIPMENT DETAILS
How ultrafiltration (uf) plant fits your process.
Operating principle
Membrane filtration for suspended solids and pretreatment or tertiary polishing duties.
A membrane barrier separates suspended matter from the filtrate. Forward filtration, backwash and chemically enhanced cleaning must be evaluated together to establish net production.
Engineering checks
- Feed turbidity, organics and fouling behaviour
- Net flux after cleaning and downtime
- Backwash supply and waste handling
- Module integrity and vendor operating envelope
Configuration & equipment
- Feed pump and protective screen
- UF membrane modules
- Feed and filtrate headers
- Backwash system
- Air-scour connections where applicable
- Chemical-cleaning circuit
- Flow and transmembrane-pressure instruments
Configuration options are reviewed against the project duty. Supply quantities and final scope are defined in the approved proposal.
| Process / operating item | Engineering requirement |
|---|---|
| Process review 1 | Backwash, air scour and chemical cleaning follow the selected membrane system. |
| Process review 2 | Residual streams require collection and an agreed handling route. |
| Operating and maintenance | Trend transmembrane pressure. Follow approved backwash and cleaning cycles. Perform membrane integrity checks. |
| Documentation | Project-specific datasheet, PFD, P&ID, equipment GA, electrical load list and O&M documentation as agreed. |

YOUR PROJECT, YOUR DESIGN BASIS
Configure your requirement.
Enter what you know. Leave unavailable values blank for engineering review.
A solution shaped by your requirements.
Membrane filtration for suspended solids and pretreatment or tertiary polishing duties. The process train is selected from feed-water analysis and the final water specification. Pretreatment protects downstream treatment, while monitoring and cleaning provisions support reliable operation.
What we review
- Required product flow and operating hours
- Water source and complete laboratory analysis
- Feed temperature, pH and fouling indicators
- Target water quality and intended use
- Utility availability and plant footprint
- Pretreatment and cleaning requirements
Capacity, materials, operating conditions and performance are specified after review of your project data. Product images are conceptual visualizations.
