How electrodeionization (edi) system fits your process.
Operating principle
Continuous ion removal for suitable pretreated water in high-purity process applications.
Electrodeionization removes residual dissolved ions using ion-exchange media, selective membranes and an electrical field. Feed must meet the selected module manufacturer’s limits.
Engineering checks
- Conductivity, hardness, silica and dissolved carbon dioxide
- Module minimum and maximum flows
- Product-water quality and temperature
- Concentrate/rinse disposal or validated recycle
Configuration & equipment
- RO permeate feed interface
- EDI module stack
- DC power supply
- Product-water manifold
- Concentrate and electrode-rinse circuits
- Conductivity and flow monitoring
Configuration options are reviewed against the project duty. Supply quantities and final scope are defined in the approved proposal.
| Process / operating item | Engineering requirement |
|---|---|
| Process review 1 | EDI feed limits, electrical duty and concentrate arrangements must follow the selected supplier. |
| Process review 2 | The diagram shows functional connections, not a detailed electrode-rinse arrangement. |
| Operating and maintenance | Trend product conductivity and electrical load. Verify feed limits before operation. Follow module-specific cleaning instructions. |
| Documentation | Project-specific datasheet, PFD, P&ID, equipment GA, electrical load list and O&M documentation as agreed. |
